Each sturdy upright stem produces one or more large open, daisy-like flower. The bi-colour flowers have a central cone of dark reddish brown and petals which start orange/red and brighten to yellow at the tips.
Compact and clump forming, this deciduous perennial is ideal for an open sunny site.
Place the plants in a sunny spot in pots near to the house or plant in your flower borders. Ideally the soil should be fertile, you can enriched it with well-rotted compost. Dead-head regularly to keep the blooms coming.
This is a favourite of florists and flower arrangers the blooms add a zing of summer heat when added to a cut flower bouquet. The blooms are a magnet for pollinators and the seed heads provide food for birds in winter.
