Crocus species Mixed offers a wonderful variety of early spring colour, flowering from February to March at one of the quietest times in the garden. Shorter and more delicate in character than the larger Dutch hybrids, species crocuses are well suited to naturalising in grass, planting in rockeries, or displaying in shallow bowls and containers.
Plant from September to December, 5cm deep in any well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Scatter the corms before planting for a natural, informal effect, or plant in clumps for a bolder display.
