Finding Your Plants

Our website has several tools to help you find exactly the right plant for your garden and growing conditions.

Using Filters

Use the filter options on any collection page to narrow down plants by characteristics such as soil type, aspect, height, or flowering season. This is the quickest way to find plants suited to your specific growing conditions.

Searching by Name

Click the magnifying glass icon at the top of any page to search by plant name, common name, or genus. This is ideal if you already know what you're looking for.

Browsing the Genus A–Z

Our A–Z index lets you browse our full range alphabetically by genus. Perfect for exploring what we grow or finding a specific genus quickly.

Filtering by Availability

Want to see only what's available to order right now? Use the In Stock filter to show only plants that are ready to dispatch. For plants that are temporarily unavailable, you can use the Notify Me When Back in Stock button on the product page to receive an email alert as soon as they're ready.

Not sure what our availability terms mean? See our Mail Order FAQs for a full explanation.

Understanding Our Plant Badges

When browsing our range you'll notice some plants carry one or more of the following badges — here's what they mean:

  • RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) — The RHS AGM is one of the most trusted recommendations in horticulture. Plants that carry this award have been rigorously trialled and assessed by the Royal Horticultural Society and proven to be reliable, excellent performers in the garden.
  • Perfect for Pollinators — This RHS badge highlights plants that are particularly valuable to bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects. A great choice if you're looking to support wildlife in your garden.
  • 100% Peat Free — All Hardy's plants are grown in peat-free compost, helping to protect precious peatland habitats. This badge confirms our commitment to sustainable, environmentally responsible growing.
