Plants are dispatched in growing condition and may not be in full flower. If too tall to pack safely, we may cut them back — this helps them establish more quickly. Read our Mail Order FAQs.
Achillea ‘Terracotta’ is a tall, clump-forming perennial with finely cut, feathery grey-green foliage. From June to September, flat-topped flowerheads open in rich terracotta-orange and gradually fade to warm cream — a colour shift that adds depth and interest as the season progresses.
Prolific and long-flowering, it is excellent for pollinators and reliably attractive to bees and hoverflies. Cut back after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second. Not a difficult colour to place, ‘Terracotta’ combines harmoniously with whites and soft pinks, or more strikingly with blues and dark purples. Its distinctive flat-headed form contrasts well with the upright daisies of Echinacea and the architectural stems of Eryngium and Oenothera. Best in free-draining soil in full sun.

Care Guide:
Achillea is drought tolerant once established but dislikes heavy, wet clay over winter. Cut back after the first flush of flowers to encourage repeat-flowering. Divide clumps every three to four years to keep plants vigorous.
