Helleborus × hybridus 'Victoria' ('Jhe00091'PBR) (ViV Series)

Helleborus × hybridus ‘Victoria’ (ViV Series) is a single hellebore whose striking flowers open cherry red in autumn before deepening to a rich aubergine purple, each bloom combining warm tones with a contrasting pale lime-green centre. Slender stems give the plant an elegant, almost delicate appearance — belied by its robust constitution and tolerance of wind and rain. The evergreen foliage forms a neat mound of deeply cut, leathery leaves that provide structure and texture long after the flowers have faded.

Bred to produce an abundance of blooms over an exceptionally long season — from September through to April — it is fully hardy and thrives in rich, moist but free-draining, neutral to alkaline soil in partial shade. Its nectar-rich flowers are a valuable early resource for winter pollinators.
