Agapanthus ‘Fireworks’ is a real showstopper in the summer border. Compact and evergreen, it forms a tidy clump of glossy, strap-shaped leaves, with flower stems reaching 60cm, topped in summer with rounded heads of striking bicoloured flowers. Each bloom opens from an upright white bud to reveal a hanging trumpet shape — rich purple-blue at the base, flaring to bright white at the tips — creating a firework-like effect that gives this variety its name.
Excellent in a sunny border or container, it performs best in a moist but free-draining soil. A reliable and long-flowering choice for late summer colour.

Care Guide:
Grow in rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch crowns in autumn. Remove spent flower stems to prevent seed set. Less hardy forms are best containerised and overwintered under cover — check hardiness before planting out.
In containers, repot one size up every two to three years; water and feed from spring to early autumn. Divide in spring when pot-bound. -
Good to Know:
Pollinator-friendly — the flowers attract bees.
Reliable in a sheltered, well-drained spot; less hardy forms need winter protection.
⚠️ Humans & Pets: Harmful if eaten. (Toxic to dogs and cats.) -
