Cirsium rivulare ‘Atropurpureum’ is an upright, clump-forming Plume Thistle bearing deep crimson-purple, thistle-like flower heads on tall stems from late spring through summer. The divided, non-prickly leaves form a basal rosette, giving the plant an architectural quality without the hazard of sharp foliage.
It thrives in moist soil in sun or partial shade and is highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, making it an excellent choice for wildlife and naturalistic garden schemes.
