Helleborus × ericsmithii ‘Ivory Prince’ is a clump-forming, evergreen perennial producing an abundance of large, bowl-shaped flowers from January through to April. The blooms open from dark pink buds to reveal ivory-white petals with a soft pink reverse, developing pale green and pink flushing as they age — a quietly beautiful colour sequence that extends the display over many weeks.
The foliage is a feature in its own right: deeply divided, dark green leaves with distinctive silvery marbling, highly weather-resistant and providing year-round structure in shaded borders and woodland edges.
Fully hardy and long-lived, it thrives in partial shade in fertile, reasonably well-drained soil.
