Ipheion ‘Rolf Fiedler’ — Spring Starflower — produces honey-scented, pale blue starry flowers on upright stems over onion-scented, grass-like foliage in late winter and early spring. An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder.
A summer-deciduous bulb, ‘Rolf Fiedler’ dies back after flowering and reappears in winter — take care not to disturb the bulbs during their dormant period. Beautiful when underplanted beneath shrubs, or showcased in a rockery, alpine trough, or gravel garden. Thrives in a sunny, sheltered spot in fertile, free-draining soil.
