Tiarella ‘Emerald Ellie’ (Fox Series) forms reliable clumps of attractively cut foliage with bold inner maroon markings edged in fresh green, from which slender stems emerge carrying clusters of fluffy, star-like white flowers from late spring into summer. An excellent plant for bees in shadier parts of the garden.
It is well suited to woodland gardens, path edges, and underplanting beneath deciduous trees, performing best in partial shade but tolerating full shade too — morning sun is preferred over afternoon. Semi-evergreen in milder winters and happy in containers on north- or east-facing aspects, it thrives in free-draining soil with some moisture.
