Caryopteris × clandonensis ‘Dark Knight’ is a compact, floriferous shrub that injects vivid late-summer colour into borders and containers, producing stunningly deep blue, nectar-rich flowers that contrast beautifully with greyish-green aromatic foliage. An excellent plant for bees and butterflies.
Its compact habit suits a position towards the front of a sunny border or in a container. It combines well with Scabiosa incisa ‘Kudo’ and Potentilla nepalensis ‘Ron McBeath’. Hardy and reliable, it thrives in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Prune back hard to a low framework in spring once the risk of frost has passed.
