Allium cristophii
Height x Spread: 50cm x 45cm
This Allium has to be one of the most popular early summer flowering bulb forms with its dramatic pinky-purple starburst flowers the size of tennis balls. Long lasting in flower, after fading they remain upright adding texture to your border into late autumn, where they look beautiful dusted with frost.
These bulbs produce lush foliage in the spring which starts to die back as the flower appears, making it an ideal bulb to be planted amongst grey or purple foliage from plants such as Artemesia , Eriophyllum or Heuchera.
