Knautia dipsacifolia
Height x Spread: 75cm x 50cm
Knautia dipsacifolia has scabious-like lilac pink pin cushion flowers which bloom in summer. Commonly known as the forest widow flower, the flowers are held on thin wiry stems above a low mound of lance-shape/elliptic dark green foliage.
It grows best in a sunny aspect within soils which are fertile and well-drained. Often used in gravel gardens and free-draining flower beds and borders.
