Echinacea purpurea

These are strong plants from the Coneflower family used as the starting point for breeding a lot of the other varieties. Sturdy upright flower stems hold large pink daisy flowers in mid summer, this Echinacea is a true bee and butterfly magnet.

It is easy to grow in a sunny border and fertile, free draining soil. Echinacea need their own individual space and will not thrive if they become crowded by other plants.
