Lyrthrum salicaria is commonly known as Purple Loosestrife. Lance-shaped, soft green leaves cover upright red stems, which bear spikes of soft pink flowers during midsummer.
This moisture loving perennial thrives in damp soils, it is ideal for planting alongside watercourses and in boggy areas in full sun. 'Blush' loves heavy soils such as clay. Deadhead to control self-seeding.
