Symphyotrichum 'Oktoberlicht'
Height x Spread: 100cm x 60cm
Ever so light and airy, 'Oktoberlicht' is well named for its large open pure white flowers that light up the border from September through to the end of October and beyond. Very free-flowering, each plant is smothered in nectar-rich blooms that lure bees, butterflies and other late season pollinators in.
Stay the snips and leave faded flowers standing tall as they look beautiful touched with frost in late autumn/early winter. Just cut back hard in early spring to tidy up the clump. These easy to grow and undemanding perennials prefer a fertile, moist but free draining soil in sun or light shade. Perfect for a white border, they add a freshness to many a colour combination from greens and oranges to blues and pinks.
