Polemonium caeruleum

The stems of this lovely plant bear sprays of blue bell-shaped flowers, with contrasting yellow stamens, throughout summer. The petals have darker blue veins, and are a delicate, almost papery, texture.
Jacob's Ladder prefers a fertile, moist but free draining soil. Especially useful for adding colour to shady areas; it can cope with any aspect. Jacob's Ladder can be divided during spring.
