Penstemon heterophyllus 'Catherine de la Mare' is a low-spreading semi-evergreen perennial with slender, blue-green linear foliage. Throughout summer it produces a succession of gorgeous bell-shaped tubular flowers in a beautiful blend of blue and purple.
Versatile and easy to place, it thrives in gravel gardens, coastal settings, and rockeries. When planting in borders, choose a sunny, sheltered spot with free-draining soil to help it flourish.

Care Guide:
Deadhead regularly to encourage further flowering. Leave the top growth in place over winter to help protect the crown, then cut back hard in spring after the last frosts. Take soft-tip cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings in midsummer as insurance against winter losses.
