Brunnera — Siberian Bugloss — is a long-lived, rhizomatous herbaceous perennial native to the woodlands of eastern Europe and north-west Asia. In spring, airy sprays of small, bright blue, forget-me-not-like flowers are held above clumps of large, heart-shaped leaves — a combination that is as charming as it is reliable. Many cultivars offer striking silvered or variegated foliage that remains ornamental long after the flowers have faded, providing months of ground-level interest.
