Disporum longistylum ‘Night Heron’ is an elegant woodlander introduced by the American plantsman Dan Hinkley. Tall, upright, branching stems — distinctly bamboo-like in character — arch gently at the tips, bearing hanging, creamy white bells tinged green in spring.
Best in humus-rich soil in partial shade, its deciduous purple-bronze foliage and striking architectural form make it an excellent specimen plant for a shaded border or container.
