Helenium ‘Vicky’ is believed to be the first picotee-flowered Helenium, bearing rich red daisy flowers with distinctive yellow-edged petals on erect stems above linear green foliage from midsummer. An upright, vigorous perennial, it forms a substantial clump quickly and was introduced in 1999 by Peter and Bärbel Zur Linden.
It thrives in a sunny border in moist but well-drained, fertile soil. Its warm colour makes it a natural choice for hot-coloured planting schemes and cottage garden borders alike, and it is highly attractive to pollinators.
