Among the most dramatic architectural plants for a British garden, Melianthus are native to South Africa and prized for their deeply divided, glaucous foliage in striking blue-green or purple tones. Despite their exotic origins they are hardier than many expect — cut back in spring and they regrow vigorously. All grown peat-free at the nursery.
