Geranium sanguineum ‘Album’ — the white form of Bloody Cranesbill — produces a carpet of large, bright white saucer-shaped flowers above small, deeply lobed dark green foliage that turns red in autumn. Long-flowering and low-maintenance, it is a classic cottage garden plant and an excellent plant for bees.
Use as decorative ground cover, at the front of a border, or as part of a wildflower meadow planting. Trim back faded flower stems to encourage further flushes. Unfussy about soil, it thrives in any reasonably fertile, well-drained position in sun or partial shade.
