Veronicastrum virginicum ‘Fascination’, commonly known as Culver’s Root, is a tall, stately perennial that brings valuable height to a late-summer border. It produces erect stems with whorls of lanceolate, toothed green leaves, topped in late summer with slender lilac flower spikes that are highly attractive to pollinators. The stems can occasionally appear flattened or fasciated in form — this is quite normal for this cultivar and part of its character.
It thrives in sun or partial shade in most reasonably fertile soils.
