Bistorta carnea
Height x Spread: 40cm x 50cm
A delightful, more petite form of Bistorta officinalis 'Superba', with slender coral-pink flowers that gently sway on willowy stems over a neat mat of semi-evergreen leaves.
As older blooms start to fade, new ones are produced creating a long lasting display with lots of flower from July through to October, helping to bridge the August colour gap that can happen in some gardens. Able to cope in slightly drier soil than its close B. officinalis relative, it makes a very useful and attractive groundcover, but would also look stunning gently spreading over the edge of a sunny planter or raised bed. Bees and butterflies love it too. Easy to grow, it will perform well in most soils except very dry, in sun or part shade.
Synonym Persicaria bistorta subsp. carnea
