Erect spikes of pale pink flowers deepen to rich crimson as they mature, creating a two-tone display above a spreading mat of dark green, elliptic leaves from summer into autumn. The foliage takes on excellent colour as the season progresses, giving ‘Superba’ genuine multi-season interest.
A semi-evergreen perennial, Bistorta affinis is a low-growing species from the Himalayas, well suited to ground cover beneath trees and shrubs, edging borders and walkways, or softening the front of a border. It thrives in any moist soil — including heavy clay — in full sun or partial shade. 100% peat-free.
