Trollius × cultorum 'Taleggio' (Cheddar)
Height x Spread: 70cm x 45cm
Some plants simply stop you dead in your tracks, ‘Taleggio’ is one of them with its ethereal almost translucent pale yellow flowerheads that bob atop very slender stems in early summer emerging from buttercup-like foliage.
Perfect for part shade but also tolerant of more sun if planted in a moist or nutrient rich soil, it will shine out of the gloom lighting up shadier parts of the garden. A rather stylish candidate for a bog, marginal or moon garden, it combines beautifully with moisture loving Iris crysographes black-flowered, Primula beesiana or Rodgersia pinnata ‘Chocolate Wing’. Pollinators love it.
