Acanthophyllum cerastioides ‘Border Belle’ — Mouse-eared Baby’s Breath — produces large white flowers with a pink tint and delicate purple veins over a spreading mat of mid-green, spoon-shaped leaves. A compact, low-growing alpine that hugs the ground and creeps gently outwards, it is pinker in tone than the straight species.
Well suited to the front of a sunny border, a rock garden, or a trough, it also makes an attractive container plant in sheltered spots away from cold winds. It thrives in full sun in well-drained to free-draining soil. Attractive to bees.
