Alchemilla erythropoda

Charming sprays of bright lime-green flowers adorn this compact, clump-forming plant in summer. Equally valued for its light green, divided leaves — which capture raindrops beautifully — as for its delicate flowers, it has a gentle, tidy grace throughout the season.

Like Alchemilla mollis, it tolerates a range of conditions, but its smaller scale makes it ideal for rock gardens, containers, and path edging. It also works well as neat ground cover. Tawny-orange autumn foliage adds a final flourish. Thrives in most soils in sun or part-shade.
