Commonly known as the parrot lily, this plant sports flaring reddish-purple tubular flowers with green tips and a dark red splashed throat. They stand out high above the tidy clumps of dark green foliage.
Long flowering, it is ideal for the middle of a border, or as a statement plant in a container. Large clumps will form quite quickly meaning that division is required every 2-3 years, which is best done in spring. Easy to grow, it will tolerate quite a bit of shade in reasonable soil.
