Small, star-shaped, pale blue flowers are held above very fine, narrow foliage in spring on Amsonia hubrichtii. It can take time to establish, but will form good-sized clumps that look spectacular in their glowing autumnal colours of yellow and red.
Much sought after by designers for the combination of delicate flower, feathery foliage and multi-season value, it really punches above its weight in a mixed border. For dramatic impact, plant in groups or as a spot plant towards the front. It thrives in sun or partial shade and will tolerate drier soils.
