Part of the Pretty Lady Series developed by Mr Kanazawa in Japan, Anemone × hybrida 'Pretty Lady Maria' is a compact, clump-forming perennial bearing a profusion of single white flowers to 6cm across, each with a central boss of yellow stamens, from late summer through to autumn. The mid-green leaves are attractively three-lobed.
The Pretty Lady Series is noted for its exceptionally free-flowering, compact habit — ideal where space is limited. It thrives in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, and dislikes drying out or being moved once established. An excellent choice for late-season colour in borders and containers, and highly attractive to butterflies.
