Commonly known as Goat's Beard, Aruncus dioicus is a spectacular and statuesque plant producing masses of creamy-white flowers in feathery plumes above mounds of deeply cut green leaves in mid-summer. In autumn it puts on a further display, the foliage turning bright yellow.
It flourishes in sun or partial shade, making substantial clumps quite quickly. A tall plant for the back of the border, it needs moist, fertile soil, making it ideal for bog gardens and heavier soils.
