Astrantia ‘Buckland’ is a particularly beautiful masterwort, producing green and white outer bracts encircling a soft pink inner pincushion. Its delicate colouring combines beautifully with dark red Astrantia for a cool effect, or pinkish-purple Salvia for a warmer tone.
It thrives in moisture-retentive soil in partial shade or sun, and is especially at home in clay. Clumps establish and bulk up quickly — divide every three years or so to keep growth vigorous. Cuts and dries exceptionally well for arrangements.
