With dusky pink petals — each with a delicate pale yellow keel — opening from purple buds above blue-green foliage, this Baptisia cultivar has been quietly winning admirers since its introduction.
More compact than B. australis, it is a natural choice for a sunny cottage garden or mixed herbaceous border — place it towards the front to show it off. After flowering from late spring through midsummer, attractive seed pods develop and add winter interest, particularly when picked out by a hoar frost. Thrives in free-draining soil in a sunny position.
