Bistorta amplexicaulis 'Elworthy Candy'

This hardy perennial produces masses of pink flower spikes from late summer into autumn, swaying gracefully in the breeze and beloved by bees and other pollinators. The lance-shaped foliage is deep green and remains evergreen in mild winters.

A low-maintenance plant that forms a dense mat, making it ideal for suppressing weeds. It can be divided every few years to keep it vigorous. Add well-rotted compost to the soil before planting to aid establishment and help retain moisture. Water during dry spells and while the roots are establishing.

The stems make excellent cut flowers, adding dots of colour and structure to arrangements. Best in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
