From spring to early summer, graceful sprays of deep blue, forget-me-not-like flowers are borne on slender dark stems above beautiful heart-shaped leaves — heavily silvered with defined green veins and margins. The striking contrast between flower and foliage makes this one of the finest ground-covering perennials for dappled or shaded spots.
Brunnera macrophylla ‘Jack Frost’ — Siberian Bugloss — has a long flowering period and remains ornamental well into the season. For the most attractive foliage, it prefers a moisture-retentive, humus-rich soil, though it will tolerate drier conditions with slightly less luxuriant results.
