A white-flowered form of perennial Cornflower, Centaurea montana 'Alba' produces its blooms from attractive scale-like buds in early summer, above mat-forming, silvery-grey foliage.
Ideal for sunny or semi-shaded areas with free-draining soil, it is a great plant for covering banks and slopes as well as borders and flower beds. The flowers cut well for vases, and deadheading regularly will encourage further blooms. When plants start to look untidy, cut the whole plant back hard to encourage fresh foliage growth.
