Cerastium tomentosum 'Silberteppich'

'Silberteppich' has been specially bred to produce a softly creeping cloud of pure frosty white flowers with greater impact than the naturally found species form, commonly known as 'Snow-in-Summer'.  

A bold choice for early summer flowering groundcover and edging, it also looks stunning gently tumbling over a sunny wall or softening the boundaries of hard steps, especially in a white garden.  Do not be fooled by its daintiness and scale though, it is actually very tough and can withstand being walked over if not too frequently.  Thriving in full sun in a free draining soil, it would be very happy in a gravel or rock garden too.  Easy to grow, keep it tidy by cutting it back hard to 5cm after flowering.
