Sprays of single, yellow daisy-shaped blooms with dark yellow centres appear from August to November. The leaves of this woody-based, hardy perennial are deep green and aromatic.
Best in a sheltered, sunny spot in well-drained or moist but well-drained soil, this perennial is loved by bees and other pollinators. The flower-laden stems are also excellent for cutting.
Stake plants if necessary. When flowering finishes, cut the plant back to approximately 20cm — this will ensure a strong, bushy plant for the following year and protect any new shoots emerging from the base. In exposed areas, apply an organic mulch in autumn to protect new growth from frost damage.
