Corydalis 'Korn's Purple'

Bred in Sweden by Peter Korn in the 1990s, this beautiful Corydalis has proven itself to be a strong grower, forming good clumps that can be divided in early spring once established. The deep purple flowers with white centres are held in clusters above delicate foliage from May through to July. Like all Corydalis, after flowering it becomes dormant for the remainder of the year before reappearing in winter.

Best grown in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. It is said to prefer neutral to acidic soil — however, our nursery water is quite alkaline and it has prospered here. Ideal for cottage and informal gardens, it makes pretty under-planting for roses and shrubs and, once established, needs very little attention.
