'Bishop of Leicester' is a leafy, clump-forming tuberous perennial from the Dahlia Bishop Series. Flowerheads of pale lavender petals with a darker central lavender stripe and striking yellow-brown eye contrast beautifully with deep bronze-purple foliage.
Not only a knock-out border or container plant, it is a long-lasting cut flower too, benefitting from regular deadheading. It grows best in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. In colder areas, lift, dry, and store tubers frost-free once autumn frosts have blackened the foliage. In milder areas, tubers can be left in the ground with the crown protected by a mulch.
