Dahlia 'Bishop of York'

Another graceful selection from the Dahlia 'Bishop's' series, 'Bishop of York' strikingly combines clear yellow single flowers each with a distinctive red and yellow centre, with lush deep bronze green foliage.

Producing masses of flowers from late summer until stopped by the first hard frosts of autumn, this hard working perennial is a great choice for a cutting garden as picking encourages further blooms.  It also looks stunning planted in swathes through a mixed border, bringing a definite wow to a 'hot' planting theme or sunny planter, its nectar rich blooms attracting bees and butterflies in their droves.  It thrives in full sun in a humus-rich, free draining soil.  In cold winters on heavy soils plants should be lifted and overwintered in a frost-free environment.
