A decorative Dahlia, 'Confusion' combines fully double flowerheads of mid-pink petals with a central deep-pink stripe over dark purple foliage. It was introduced by Hardy's after propagating it from a chance sport of Dahlia 'Fusion' — hence its name.
It shares many of 'Fusion's attributes: prolific, well-formed flowers that cut well for arrangements, and versatility as both a container plant and a provider of strong texture and colour in a border. Deadhead regularly for long-lasting colour. It thrives in humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun. In colder areas, lift, dry, and store tubers frost-free in autumn. In milder areas, tubers can be left in the ground with the crown protected by a mulch.
