Delphinium Astolat Group

This striking Larkspur produces tall spikes of closely packed large dusky rose-tinted flowers with a dark centre that open from the bottom of the stem to the top above a low clump of deeply cut green foliage.

This plant is one of the quintessential ingredients of a cottage garden border, where it will add height, interest and drama in the early summer.  Cut out faded flower spikes at their base to promote a a second flush in the late summer. This plant will thrive in a sunny position if planted in fertile, well-drained soil. 

All parts of the plant are poisonous.
