Delphinium King Arthur Group has impressive spikes of satin-like, dark inky-blue flowers highlighted with a white centre, above strongly cut green foliage. You can encourage a second flush of flowering in late summer by removing the first flush of flower spikes as soon as they fade.
Lauded as one of the cottage garden stalwarts for good reason, it delivers impact, height and a wonderful blue colour to the border, and also cuts well for arrangements. It grows best in rich, well-drained soil in full sun.
