Plants are dispatched in growing condition and may not be in full flower. If too tall to pack safely, we may cut them back — this helps them establish more quickly. Read our Mail Order FAQs.
Commonly known as the Knapp Carnation, Dianthus knappii produces single, pale yellow flowers each around 2cm across, held high on erect stems during summer. The evergreen foliage below is a soft grey-green.
A native of Eastern Europe, it thrives in well-drained soils in a sunny position and is well suited to the front of a border, an alpine garden, or a gravel garden. Keep deadheading to prolong the flowering season and encourage those subtle buttermilk blooms to keep coming.
