This truly perennial foxglove — commonly known as Large Yellow Foxglove — bears erect spires of large tubular creamy-yellow flowers, 4–5cm in length, with internal brown freckles over dark evergreen foliage. It grows naturally in open woods and grassy areas near streams from Central Europe to the north Mediterranean.
A clump-forming perennial that thrives in full sun, dappled or full shade, it is ideal for brightening woodland gardens, shady borders and cottage garden plantings alike. It establishes quickly and attracts pollinators, cuts well for arrangements, and is generally rabbit and deer resistant. It performs best in a humus-rich soil.
All parts are poisonous.
