Diplarrena moraea

This fragrant perennial bears delicate flowerheads of three pure white outer petals and three smaller inner petals tinted bright yellow with purple edges, over green, grass-like foliage.

Commonly known as the Butterfly Flag, it hails from SE Australia.  We think it deserves to be better known in the U.K. and makes a perfect container, front of border or gravel garden plant where its scent can be enjoyed to the full. This plant thrives in a sunny location in acid to neutral, well-drained but moist in summer soil, enriched with humus.
