Echinacea pallida is a perennial species Coneflower with a distinctive shuttlecock silhouette — the long, soft pink ray petals reflex and droop back from a prominent orange-brown cone, creating an elegant, airy effect from midsummer through to early autumn.
Hairy, linear mid-green leaves form the base of an upright, clump-forming plant that is perfectly suited to prairie-style planting schemes, mixed borders, and gravel gardens. It attracts bees and butterflies in abundance. Grow in well-drained, humus-rich soil in full sun, with protection from excessive winter wet.
